Tentacles lurk under the surface of this sale's quarter-price pool. I'm starting out targeting all three poems in the Kraken thread (total $125 at quarter-price). Anyone who'd like to sponsor something from the sale at quarter-price is welcome to join by making a small but significant contribution to the pool targets, and then contributing toward the target of their choice. That poem will be added to the pool target list.

Every time pool contributions come in to fund the least expensive pool target, I will add another poem to the target list. If you haven't selected a target for yourself and would like to recommend one, please do, and I will use that one. Otherwise, I will pick one myself.

Hoping for good participation!

ETA: I will stop taking pledges around 6pm PDT (UTC -8), to allow any late joiners to settle accounts in time for a timely forwarding to [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith. There's still some time!

I'm in! I have roughly $100 to spend this time, although I'm not sure what to do about targets because I'm kind of all over the place.

I'm definitely down for helping with the Kraken poems, and the main other group I had my eye on was the four connected poems for the Rutledge thread, or as many as the pool could get.

The other one that really caught my eye was "If You Can't Change the World," because Cas and cookies! And it is a small one so it doesn't need lots of cash.

I will make a post on a blog later today, directing interested parties here for the pool, so hopefully we will get a lot of takers. :D

That sounds like a good plan :) Covering the first three Rutledge poems and the $20 Kraken one sounds good to me. And then that should leave enough for me to also pick up the poem about Cas and the cookies (I believe it's $14.75 at quarter price), with whatever change is left going to whichever target you pick next?

If I figured my math wrong, let me know and I'll revise what I said above to reflect that.

>> Covering the first three Rutledge poems <<

That at least gets Ahzan to Rutledge and a safe place to rest.

"If You Can't Change the World"
Story Date: Saturday, October 1, 2016
Cas celebrates Homemade Cookies Day.
116 lines, was $58, sale price $29

$29 รท 2 = $14.50

Thank you for the price correction; my brain isn't altogether here right now.

I know that feel. It's why I used a calculator. Prosthetic math.

That is an easy way to do it. My brain was gonna enough that I couldn't be bothered to pull up the calculator on my phone, and I always double check my math before sending money for poems to make sure I got it right.

I keep a calculator within arm's reach on my desk. If math is easy, I can do it without, but for anything complicated I use it. The key is to make using the calculator easier than not using it. I have a hard time remembering how to set up math problems, but now search engines will autocalculate things like "What is 33% of 2,649?" or "45 is 66% of what?"

Ah, that makes sense. And having search engines that autocalculate is great. I often use google when I need to convert from imperical to metric values for recipes because I can never remember the conversion rates off hand.

I have marked those accordingly. You may want to check and make sure the listing is correct.

Okay, these are the ones mentioned. Shall I mark them?

"The Hog Knows the Tree"
"Daddy Tortoise Goes Slow"
"The Melting Pot"

I'm on board with buying a Pain's Gray poem. I'm also good with finishing up the smaller of the two epics, if that fits the budget better. And I can pitch in another $5-10 or so, if you need help covering any gaps.

I want "The Hog Knows the Tree" and "Daddy Tortoise Goes Slow". At quarter price, that's $65.25 I think. If I throw in $100, that leaves the excess to get something else, and/or close out the smaller open epic.

Yes, I like new Ti-Jean. :-)

This is the smaller open epic I mentioned as possibly closing, too:

"A Celebration and a Consolation" belongs to Polychrome Heroics. It needs $28.50 to be complete.

Yay!

You have another $50.00 to play with. I'd like to see "The Melting Pot" sponsored, if possible. That leaves $28.25 to go elsewhere; use as you see wish. Just PM me the Paypal address.

And that is why I shouldn't math when I'm headed for bed - I divided the 87 by 4 instead of 2. Thank you for correcting me!
