Self-Knowledge Question #1: Happiness
Jan. 10th, 2019 02:02 amI'm at a point right now where improving my own self-knowledge would be a significant help. So I'm going to work through that list of questions the same way
OK, time to get started. Here's today's question:
1. Are you happy? Where you are right now, doing what you’re doing, the life you’re living… are you happy? If not, what do you think you need to be truly happy?
Most of the time. The line "Happiness is not having what you want, it's wanting what you have" aligns well with how things are materially for me. The emotional/spiritual alignment is more problematic, however. Some of what I have I do not want, and some of what I want I do not have. And none of this mismatch is anything that can be solved by any external agency. I can get help with this (and I am), but I will still have to do it myself.

Heartily concur on waiting until then. The questions strike me as the sort that would benefit from a decent amount of introspection and reflection -- something that will be in short supply for you until you find your new home.

Date: 2019-01-11 12:11 am (UTC)Thanks for the good wishes. I'm pretty sure, though, that it won't be luck that gets things aligned, even though that might well help. It'll be work, some of it hard, that actually gets things done there.
What I'm trying to get is a favorable outcome, and wishes for such will be greatly appreciated.

Date: 2019-01-11 06:19 pm (UTC)I knew someone a while back who, instead of wishing anyone good luck, would wish them the best of their /skill/ instead. I've tried his wording, but despite it seeming intuitive to me, I've had to explain it so many times that I've reverted back to default.
